BOX SCORE

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Griffins were handed a 3-0 decision to Albright on Thursday evening at the Griffin Complex, as Gwynedd's winless streak reached six matches. Set scores were 25-21, 25-22, and 25-12.

Freshman Jessica Behr (Philadelphia, Pa./MaST Charter) along with sophomore Laura Kirk (Saegertown, Pa./Maplewood) each had a team-high seven kills. The seven were a season high for Behr.

The Griffins (6-20) had trouble finding a groove early on, as four of the first five points of the opening set were off of GM hitting errors. They would battle back from that 5-0 hole to get within 13-12. The deficit would later swell to six (19-13) and with set point facing them, Gwynedd tried to answer the bell with four-straight points but would drop set #1, 25-21. In set two, GM would take a 15-13 lead before the Lions scored five-straight and eight of the next 10 points to re-establish the advantage. The Griffins chiseled it to 23-22, but a misplay and a kill put Albright up, 2-0.

In third set, Albright raced out to an 8-2 and later a 13-3 lead and did not look back.

Kellie Hill led the Lions (8-16), who ended a four-match winless streak, with a match-high 12 kills. Setter Claudia Guise racked up 25 assists, eight digs, and five kills. As a team, Albright hit 40-21-119 (.160).

Kirk and junior Lauren Tressel (Pembroke, Ma./Pembroke) each led GM with 17 digs respectively. Freshman Lauren Martin (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) and junior Brianna Greer (Philadelphia, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) added nine apiece. Gwynedd totaled a 24-13-107 (.103) hitting line on the night.

The Griffins will resume action on Saturday with a trip to Immaculata in CSAC action starting at 1 p.m.
