GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy hosted Arcadia and Keystone on Saturday in the team's final home tri-match of the season, but came away with two defeats.

In the day's first match, the Griffins (6-18, 1-5 CSAC) suffered a 3-0 loss to Arcadia (25-7, 25-19, 25-15). Arcadia would jump out to a fast start in the first set, taking a 5-3 lead and stretching it to 18-3. In the second, the teams stayed within reaching distance before the Knights tallied seven-straight points to turn a 13-12 edge into an eight-point advantage. They would weather a late GM comeback to go up 2-0. The Knights would use a scoring run to open up a seven-point edge in the third to go on and cement the win.

Offensively, the Griffins totaled 15 kills (15-20-90). Junior Lauren Tressel (Pembroke, Ma./Pembroke) and freshman Jessica Behr (Philadelphia, Pa./MaST Charter) each tallied four kills.

Makenna Miklus led all attackers with 13 kills for the Knights.

In Gwynedd's second match, Keystone would give GM a 3-1 defeat (25-17, 22-25, 25-19, 25-17), sending the Griffins to their fifth-straight conference loss.

Tressel would led the Griffins with eight kills while sophomore Laura Kirk (Saegertown, Pa./Maplewood) and junior Brianna Greer (Philadelphia, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) added six apiece.

The Griffins took a 6-2 lead in the first, only to see the Giants score the next nine points. GM would get as close as four on two occasions before Keystone took it, 25-17. In the second set, the Griffins broke open a 20-20 tie with Tressel ending it on a kill. The Giants won the third set, 25-19, and in the fourth, ran away with a 25-15 score to close it out.
