HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – With a 3-0 win at Centenary, the Gwynedd Mercy Volleyball Team nailed down their first Colonial States Athletic Conference Win. Set scores were 25-12, 25-8, and 25-8.
The team registered a season-high in hitting percentage (.360) and service aces (28) while their 23 kills tied their highest output this season.
Freshman
Laura Kirk (Saegertown, Pa./Maplewood) collected 10 of those aces while sophomore
Lauren Tressel (Pembroke, Ma./Pembroke) added six kills, five aces, and eight digs
Gwynedd (2-12, 1-1 CSAC), who also ended a 10-game winless streak, would take the first set after a 14-2 run opened it up. The second set saw GM score the first six points and not look back.
Centenary (0-11, 0-1 CSAC) as a team only had six kills.
The Griffins will host Arcadia and Wesley in a tri-match on Saturday. Gwynedd will take on Arcadia starting at 10 a.m. and Wesley at 2 p.m. Sandwiched between those two matches, the Knights and Wolverines will do battle at noon.
