BOX SCORE

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy remained unbeaten at home courtesy of a come from behind 2-1 win over DeSales on Monday afternoon.

Sophomore Katie O'Neill (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) netted the game-winner, her second in the last three games, with 7:55 left in regulation. The Griffins (4-3), down 1-0 at the half, got on the board at the 46:00 mark when Tori Corbin (New Oxford, Pa./Delone Catholic) tapped in a ball sent across the goal mouth on a penalty corner for the freshman's first collegiate goal.

Gwynedd had eight of their 14 corners in the second half, kept pressing for the go-ahead tally.  O'Neill was able to pick up the ball after a blocked shot just inside the circle and fire one past DeSales goalie Becky Rasmuson for her third score this season.

The Bulldogs (3-4) made it 1-0 in the first as Alison Malatesta was able to get behind GM goalie Kelly Kruk (Phoenixville, Pa./Methacton) and tuck one on for an early lead.

Kruk would settle in and record both her saves in the second half, as she faced six shots. Rasmuson made seven stops in the loss.

The Griffins are right back at it here on Wednesday night when they welcome FDU-Florham in a 7 p.m. start.
