HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- The Griffins had their win streak come to an end in falling to Centenary in a CSAC Doubleheader on Saturday. The Cyclones took game one, 8-1, and the second in a nail biter, 1-0.

In game one, Gwynedd led 1-0 after scoring a run on an error in the third. Centenary would take advantage of two errors in the fourth to score five runs, three unearned, to take a 5-1 lead.

Ashley Lamont (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) had one of the three Griffin hits, a double in the second.

Starter Kaitlyn Johnson (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley) took the loss, as she was charged with eight runs (five earned) on nine hits, three walks, and a strikeout.

In game two, Ashley Montferrat lone run in the first was the difference, as GM was held to three hits again. After her lead-off double, her steal attempt to third drew a wild throw and she was able to score for a 1-0 lead.

Lamont started game two on the mound, took the hard-luck loss, yielding just two hits with six K's.

Gwynedd had a chance in the fifth, getting two on with one out, but two groundouts ended the threat.

The Griffins (14-12, 12-4 CSAC) will get right back at it tomorrow with a conference twinbill at Marywood at 1 p.m. Live stats will be available for the game.
