GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Sophomore Kaitlyn Johnson (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley) tossed a no-hitter in game one of a CSAC Doubleheader sweep of Notre Dame of Maryland on Sunday. The Griffins won game one 4-0, and took the second, 7-0.

Johnson, who struck out four, had a perfect game going into the seventh , but a lead-off walk ended that chance. She would settle in to get out of a jam with runners on second and third in the final inning to win game one, 4-0.

A pair of RBI singles from Kelsey McDonough (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower)and Ave Bolli (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) in the fourth put GM (10-10, 8-2 CSAC) on the board. Ashley Lamont (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) added a two-run double down the left field line in the next inning to make it a 4-0 lead.

The Gators' Ashley Fallon gave up those four runs on just five hits, with two walks and a strikeout.

Game two saw Gwynedd jump ahead in the first scoring three runs on just one hit but three Gator errors. Sophomore Jennifer Whalen (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) would triple to right with two outs in the second, but a misplay by the fielder sent Whalen home where she beat the throw to make it 4-0.

The Griffins added three more runs in the fourth. It was more than enough for Lamont, as she totaled a season-high 10 strikeouts while scattering six hits and no walks. Lamont would add an RBI double as part of that three-run fourth.

Cara Corsaro and Ashley Fallon each went 2-for-3 for Notre Dame (5-22, 1-16 CSAC).

The Griffins are right back at it tomorrow when they host Keystone in a conference twinbill starting at 3 p.m.
