LAPLUME, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy ended the season with a very tough 3-2 defeat at Keystone in a CSAC matchup on Saturday. Set scores registered as: 23-25, 25-18, 24-26, 25-13, 15-5.
Senior
Stephanie Farrar (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) tied a career-high with 20 digs while adding a season-high nine kills. Sophomore
Caroline Bisch (East Norriton, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) had her first career double-double, registering 11 assists and 10 digs.
After taking two of the first three sets, the Griffins were outscored 40-18 over the final two. Offensively, the team hit a bump, totaling four kills in the final two sets after managing 22 in the first three.
Shelby Morgan led all attackers with 17 kills and added 24 digs. Carol Mosier chipped in 37 assists, six digs, and five aces.
It was the last match for the team's three seniors, Farrar,
Elyssa Cruz (Wrightstown, N.J./Northern Burlington) and
Michelle Carrieri (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South).
Gwynedd Mercy finishes the 2013 season with a final record of 3-28 and 2-9 in conference play.
