GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- In the final home match of the season, it was Immaculata defeating Gwynedd Mercy, 3-0, Wednesday night. Set scores were 25-22, 25-20, and 25-18.

The Griffins (3-27, 2-8 CSAC) would lead 22-16 in the first set only to see the Mighty Macs rally with eight-straight points, then notch the win on a GM hitting error. Again in set #2, Gwynedd held a late lead, but IU used a six-point run to go ahead, 21-17. In the third and final set, a 10-8 Griffin advantage was eroded away as Immaculata (10-16, 5-6 CSAC) recorded seven points in a row as Gwynedd could not catch up the rest of the way.

Statistically, senior Michelle Carrieri (Warminster, Pa./Central Bucks South) led the Griffins with five kills, 10 digs, and four aces.

Jamie Rombach led all attackers with 10 kills while teammate Brittany Thompson dished out 20 assists with six digs and an ace.

Gwynedd Mercy will close out the 2013 season on Saturday when they travel up to Keystone in a CSAC contest.
