GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Baptist Bible left the Griffin Complex with a 3-1 win over the Griffins in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match Wednesday evening. Set scores were 20-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-21.

For the fourth match in a row, the Griffins (2-15, 1-2 CSAC) would take the first set, but could not use that momentum to pave the way for victory. In the second, GM would have set-point at 24-22, but saw the Defenders score four-straight points to close it out. In both the third and four sets, Gwynedd would rally late but come up short in their second conference defeat of the year.

Freshman Laura Kirk (Saegertown, Pa./Maplewood) posted 10 kills as the squad totaled a season-high 38 kills. Right behind Kirk was Lauren Tressel (Pembroke, Ma./Pembroke) and Kasey Loring (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) who each had nine.

Senior Stephanie Farrar (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) picked up a career-best 20 digs along with five aces, which was one shy of a personal best.

Tayn Fritz notched a match-high 11 kills along with 14 digs for Baptist Bible (9-13, 2-1 CSAC), who won their fourth in a row.

Gwynedd Mercy will look to snap their own streak of three losses in a row on Saturday when they welcome the defending CSAC Champions Neumann here in a noon start.
