GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Host Gwynedd-Mercy entertained Alvernia and Shenandoah in a tri-match on Saturday. The Griffins dropped both matches, falling 3-0 to both the Crusaders and Hornets.

Shenandoah was able to take down Alvernia by an identical score of 3-0.

Against Alvernia, game scores were 25-12, 25-22, and 25-15. Seniors Ariana Richards (Latrobe, Pa./Great Latrobe) and Kelsey Craig (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) led the Griffins. Richards totaled a team-high seven kills and three digs. Craig added two kills and two digs along with four blocks (two solo).

Kristen Rupp led all attackers with 10 kills for Alvernia.

Richards again led GM (0-4) with nine kills vs. Shenandoah; however the Hornets won in three sets (25-15, 25-19, and 25-19).

Freshman Lauren Tressel (Pembroke, Ma./Pembroke) chipped in four kills and four aces.

Craig and Richards had six digs each.

The team plays at Rowan on Tuesday in a 7 p.m. start.
