GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Saturday's tri-match saw Gwynedd-Mercy take down Rosemont, 3-2 (19-25, 25-14, 25-15, 23-25, 15-8), but fall to Albright, 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-19).
In the other match of the day, the Lions downed Rosemont, 3-0.
Against the Ravens, senior
Kelsey Craig (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) recorded a career-high 12 kills while adding three digs and two solo blocks. Junior
Michelle Carrieri (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) chipped in nine aces and nine digs.
In the fourth set, with GM leading, 3-1, and looking to clinch the match, the Ravens forced a fifth set with a close 25-23 win. The Griffins trailed 6-1 at one point in the fifth, but rallied to lead 10-8 and would score five-straight points to close it out to win their first CSAC match this season.
Giselle Ramos and Alyssa Pizzo each had six kills for Rosemont (2-10).
Against Albright, the Griffins never led in falling in three sets to the Lions. Carrieri posted a team-high seven kills.
Gwynedd-Mercy (2-13, 1-1 CSAC) travels to Cedar Crest on Wednesday to continue conference play.
