GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Gwynedd-Mercy opened conference play with Cairn and then took on Delaware Valley in non-conference action to highlight tri-match action at the Griffin Complex on Saturday.

The Griffins fell, 3-0, to the Highlanders in the first match of the day. Game scores were 25-12, 25-11, and 25-12.

Senior Kristen Gambone (East Norriton, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) almost recorded a double-double, registering 11 assists and eight kills. The setter also added two service aces as GM went to 0-1 in CSAC action.

Abbie Keating and Brigid Shehan each had nine kills for Cairn (9-5, 1-0 CSAC).

Gwynedd then battled Delaware Valley, but lost, 3-0, to the Aggies.

Junior Michelle Carrieri (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) led Gwynedd with six kills. Freshman Caroline Bisch (East Norriton, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) chipped in seven digs.

Gina page tallied eight kills for Del Val (8-4).

In the middle match, Cairn knocked off the Aggies, 3-0.

Gwynedd-Mercy will host another tri-match next weekend when Rosemont and Albright visit Gwynedd Valley. GM will battle the Ravens starting at 10 a.m. Rosemont will then play Albright at noon followed by the Lions and Griffins at 2 p.m.
