MAHWAH, N.J. – Gwynedd-Mercy struggled at the Roadrunner Invitational on Saturday, losing the three matches played on the day.

First off was a 3-0 defeat to the hands of Rutgers-Newark. Set scores were 25-9, 25-15, and 25-7. Senior Kelsey Craig (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) recorded five of the team's 11 kills while adding five digs and two aces. The squad was also surrendered 15 aces from the Scarlet Raiders.

The Griffins then took on the host Ramapo but lost, 3-0. Scores were 25-12, 25-16, and 25-15. Craig again led the team with four kills and chipped in a match-high 15 digs.

In the final match of the day, Gwynedd dropped a 3-1 decision to Manhattanville. GM would win the first set, but ultimately lose the next three. Game scores were 23-25, 25-21, 25-14, 26-24. Freshman Lauren Tressel (Pembroke, Ma./Pembroke) was two kills shy of a double-double (eight kills/16 digs). Senior Kristen Gambone (East Norriton, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) dished out 28 assists while adding eight digs. Senior Ariana Richards (Latrobe, Pa./Great Latrobe) also had 16 digs.

Gwynedd-Mercy (0-9) returns to action on Tuesday when they host Division II Cheney at the Griffin Complex at 7 p.m.
