HAVERFORD, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy was held to three hits in dropping a non-league doubleheader at Haverford on Thursday. The Fords won game one, 7-0, and the second, 10-0, in a perfect game thrown by the Fords' Brittany Stevenson.

In game one, freshman MaryKate Ballerino (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) had one of the three Griffin hits along with a stolen base.

Haverford's Elizabeth Newman had the big bat, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Her two-run double was part of a four-run second.

Junior Steph Farrar (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) took the loss for the Griffins (0-22).

Stevenson's perfect game highlighted a 10-0 victory in game two. She struck out six for the Fords (11-10-1).

Freshman Kaitlyn Johnson (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley) was pegged with the loss.

Gwynedd-Mercy welcomes Marywood on Monday in a CSAC two-fer starting at 3 p.m.
