GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Gwynedd-Mercy lost a pair of games to Cabrini in a CSAC twinbill on Saturday, falling 7-6 in game one, and 11-9 in game two.

In game one, the Griffins tried to rally back from a 7-0 deficit including two runs in the seventh, but to no avail. Sophomore catcher Maria Seserko (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) was 2-for-3 with three RBI's . Senior Nicole Paleologus (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) had a double with her two hits.

GM fell behind 7-0 after four innings but chipped away. Seserko's RBI single in the fifth got one back. Later her two-run single was part of a three-run sixth.

Starter Kaitlyn Johnson (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley) suffered the loss, as she was roughed up early on, pitching into the third inning.

Once again, Game two had a similar feel as Gwynedd got in an early hole. Down 4-0 in the third, GM put together a spurt which included a two-run triple off the bat of Stephanie Farrar (North Wales, Pa./North Penn). Farrar would later score on an RBI single from MaryKate Ballerino (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) to cut it to 4-3.

The Cavs answered with a five-spot in the fourth on four hits and an error. Gwynedd tried to rally late, getting two runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh, but were unable to take a lead.

Senior Ali Gurko (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI. Jennifer Whalen (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) added three hits while junior Kelsey Craig (Chichester, Pa./Chichester) had a pair of RBIs.

Gwynedd-Mercy (0-12, 0-4 CSAC) hosts Misericordia on Wednesday in non-league action starting at 3 p.m.
