BOX SCORE

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA -- The Griffins fell to #4 ranked Montclair State on Saturday afternoon, 3-0, in their regular season-finale.

The loss snaps the Griffins' four-game winning streak.

Montclair (16-1) was led by Jennifer Tafro as she punched in two goals and added an assist on the day. Tafro put the Red Hawks on the board first when she scored on an assist from Sierra Rauchbach at the 18:53 mark when she found the back of the cage with her shot in the crease.

Later on in the first, Tafro set up Frances Schaefer in the crease to put Montclair up 2-0 heading into the break.

Tafro and Rauchbach connected again in the second half this time off a penalty corner. Tafro received the corner pass and chipped a shot over goalie Kelly Kruk (Phoenixville, Pa./Methacton) to give the Red Hawks the three-goal advantage.

Gwynedd had trouble generating offense, registering seven shots to the Red Hawks' 22. MSU held an 11-9 penalty corner advantage.

Kruk recorded ten saves in net with Erin Magee (Lindenwold, N.J. / Paul VI) and Brooke Oliver (Red Hill, Pa. / Upper Perkiomen) each adding a defensive save. Her counterpart Megan Bosland stopped seven shots for the shutout.

Gwynedd, who clinched the top playoff seed, will host fourth-seeded Marywood on Wednesday in a CSAC Tournament Semifinal. Start time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
