DOVER, DE. – The Griffins traveled to Wesley College Saturday evening but came away with a 3-0 non-conference defeat.
Senior setter
Kristen Gambone (East Norriton, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) dished out 16 assists along with eight digs, three aces, and two kills.
Kelsey Craig (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) and
Michelle Carrieri (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) each had seven kills apiece. Craig chipped in seven digs while Carrieri added three blocks.
The Griffins (3-21) led 7-2 in the first set before the Wolverines ran off an 11-2 spurt. GM would be down 24-19, but would score the next three points. In the second set, Wesley tallied 10-straight points early on to go up 15-6.
Linsday DiMuzio tallied four kills and five blocks (two solo). Teammate Cristine Marruffo had 15 assists, six digs, and four kills for the Wolverines (6-22).
Gwynedd-Mercy will host two home games this week, one on Tuesday against Marywood and the other on Thursday vs. Centenary.
