Sarah Jackson (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) surpassed the 100-point mark for her career, highlighting a convincing 10-1 road win at Marywood on Saturday.
Jackson totaled a personal-best four goals in the contest. Her second goal of the day would put her over the century mark. Senior
Kelsey Deveney (Dalton, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) also topped a career high, finishing with eight points (three goals, two assists).
The Griffins (11-3, 4-1 CSAC) struck early on a tally from senior
Erin Gorenflo (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) just 3:25 into the contest. Later in the period, GM would net three goals in a span of 4:45 to go up by four. Gwynedd led 6-0 at halftime.
Kathryn Morin spoiled the shutout with a goal in the second half on a penalty stroke for the Pacers (4-8, 4-2 CSAC).
Gorenflo also added an assist. Freshmen
Katie O'Neill (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) and
Katie Hickson (Harleysville, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) also scored for the Griffins, who won their third in a row.
Gwynedd-Mercy will close out conference play on Tuesday where they'll travel to Neumann for a 7 p.m. start. With a win, the Griffins can earn a #1 or #2 seed and host a semifinal round game.
