IMMACULATA, PA. – Immaculata pinned a 3-0 CSAC defeat on Gwynedd-Mercy Wednesday evening. Game scores were 25-17, 25-14, and 25-17.

Junior Michelle Carrieri (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) and freshman Lauren Tressel (Pembroke, Ma./Pembroke) each had five kills to lead GM. Carrieri added four aces and four digs. Senior Kelsey Craig (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) chipped in five digs, three kills and four blocks (two solo).

The Griffins (3-20, 2-6 CSAC) held a sizable lead in the first set, scoring eight-straight points to go up 13-7. The Mighty Macs responded by taking a 15-14 lead and outscoring GM, 10-4, the rest of the way. Gwynedd would lead again in the second set, 10-8, but score just four more points as Immaculata won 17 of the next 21 points.

Alexandra Okoro led IU (7-18, 3-6 CSAC) with a match-high seven kills. Brittany Thompson chipped in 15 assists, eight digs, and four aces.

Gwynedd-Mercy plays at Wesley College on Saturday night in a non-conference match starting at 7 p.m.
