GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – The Gwynedd-Mercy College Volleyball Team fell in three sets to Cabrini, 3-0, Thursday evening. Game scores were 25-11, 25-11, and 25-15.

Seniors Ariana Richards (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) totaled five kills, three digs, two blocks (one solo) and Kelsey Craig (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) added six kills and two aces.

Danielle Carrozza match-high nine kills for the Cavaliers (14-5, 7-1 CSAC).

In the first set, Cabrini turned an 8-4 lead into a 13-4 edge with five-straight points to pull away. Again in set #2, the Cavs used an early six-point swing to open up a lead and would score the final six points to close it out.

As a team, Gwynedd had a 16-9-48 hitting line (.146) with five aces, but committed 11 service errors and 10 reception errors. Cabrini posted a 28-960 (.317) mark.

The Griffins (2-18, 1-6 CSAC) will welcome Keystone and Penn State-Abington on Saturday for the fourth and final tri-match of the season. GM will take on the Giants in a CSAC match starting at 10 a.m. Keystone will then play PSU-Abington at noon followed by the Griffins and Lions at 2 p.m.
