ROSEMONT, PA.  -- Gwynedd-Mercy fell to Rosemont College Saturday afternoon, 75-71 in a CSAC matchup as the Griffins nearly rallied from a big second-half deficit.

Senior Dan DelConte (Blue Bell, Pa. / Wissahickon) who led all scorers with 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting.

Gwynedd (10-7, 5-5 CSAC) found themselves down 44-35 at the half with the Griffins cutting the deficit to nine after trailing by seventeen when Mitch Carsillo knocked down a three to put the Ravens ahead 40-23 with three minutes left in the half.

The second half saw Rosemont use a 14-2 run to take a twenty-one point lead, their largest of the game (58-37) on a Tremell Green jumper with just over fourteen minutes remaining.  The Griffins were able to storm back with a 17-3 run over a seven minute stretch to cut the lead to four 65-61 on a Brandon Sharp  (Hammonton, N.J. / St. Joseph's) bucket and free throw with just over four minutes left to play.  The Griffins were unable to cut into the lead with the Ravens making their free throws to close out the contest to secure the victory.

Rosemont (11-7, 7-4 CSAC) shot 54.9% (28-of-51) from the field knocking down ten three pointers and making nine free throws.  Dan Kearney led the Ravens with seventeen points and his bench counterpart Mitch Carsillo added fourteen.  Combined both players knocked down seven three pointers on the contest.  Green and Kevin Fenstermaker each added ten respectively.

The Griffins shot 40% (22-of-55) and made seven threes and with a 20-of-24 free throw effort.  Freshman Justin Knight (Mays Landing, N.J. / Oakcrest) gave a spark to the Griffins off the bench adding 13 points and pulling down five rebounds. DelConte knocked down five three pointers and added four steals. 

The rebounding margin was tied a 31-31.  Harrison Carsillo pulled down ten caroms for the Ravens.  Freshman Tom McKeefery (North Cape May, N.J. / Lower Cape May) pulled down five rebounds and added four points for Gwynedd.

Following their three game road stretch the Griffins now return to home Wednesday night when they will face Keystone College for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
