EWING, N.J. -- Gwynedd-Mercy suffered a 5-2 defeat at the eighth-ranked (NFHCA) College of New Jersey Saturday afternoon.

The Griffins (1-1) found themselves in an early hole, trailing 2-0 just nine minutes into the contest. GM answered with two tallies, one each from sophomore Sarah Jackson (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) and Maria Karidas (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) in the 16th and 18th minutes respectively to tie things up.

TCNJ (2-0) took a 3-2 lead into the half as a score in the 28th minute put Gwynedd behind again.

The Lions then added two tallies from Camille Passucci in the second half, as the Griffins were outshot, 15-1, in the frame.

Freshman goalie Kelly Kruk (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) was kept busy, making 12 saves.

GMC will welcome DeSales in non-league action on Tuesday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
