GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- With a 3-0 win over Cedar Crest Wednesday evening, the Gwynedd-Mercy College Volleyball Team opened their CSAC slate with a victory and their third win overall in a row.

Game scores were 25-17, 27-25, and 25-17.

The Griffins (3-6, 1-0 CSAC) never trailed in the first set, but in the second, it was a different story. Leading 24-21, and serving to clinch the set, the Falcons rallied with four-straight points to take a lead. GM flexed its muscles and won the next three to go up two sets to none. In the third set, Gwynedd led 12-6 at one point and did not look back in clinching their first conference win.

Senior Rachel Lambert (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) had a game-high nine kills while adding four aces and four blocks (one solo). Fellow senior Aileen Reilly (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) chipped in nine digs and seven kills.

Kiersten Collins led the Falcons (4-3, 0-1 CSAC) with eight kills.

Gwynedd-Mercy plays at Centenary in a week from tonight, September 21st in a CSAC match starting at 7 p.m.
