ALLENTOWN, PA. -- Cedar Crest took two from Gwynedd-Mercy on Tuesday to severly hinder the Griffin playoff chase. The Falcons, won, 5-3, in game one, and took the second, 4-3.

With four conference games left Gwynedd (10-17, 8-10 CSAC) will have to win out and get some help in order to secure a postseason bid.

In game one, the Griffins scored both runs unearned, but tried to keep things close, and threatened late, getting runners in scoring position in the final two innings.

Freshman Stephanie Farrar (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) went 4-for-4 with a double and scored both of GM's runs.

Game two saw Gwynedd build a 2-1 lead after a two-run first. Junior Nicole Paleologus (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) added an RBI double in the fourth to make 3-1.

Cedar Crest took the lead for good in the fifth using a two-run homerun from Shannon Wenner and an RBI double from Laura Swanhall.

The Griffins again tried to rally late, but couldn't get a run home after back-to-back singles to lead off the sixth and similarily in the seventh, with two on.

Gwynedd plays at Neumann on Friday in a CSAC twinbill starting at 3 p.m.
