GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Senior Heather Morgan (Audubon, N.J./Audubon) tossed two shutouts, giving up just six hits with 11 strikeouts as Gwynedd-Mercy took two from visiting Rosemont in a CSAC Doubleheader on Thursday. The Griffins, won game one, 12-0, and the second, 8-0.

Morgan fanned four while walking one on three hits in game one. The bats were hot early, as the Griffins scored four in the first and added five in the second.  Junior Ali Gurko (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) helped spark the offense with a three-run inside-the-park home run in the five-run second. Freshman Stephanie Farrar (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) scored three runs while adding and RBI double and RBI triple.

Game two saw Morgan strike out a season-high seven. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI. The Griffins (10-15, 8-8 CSAC) took advantage of seven Raven errors. Sophomore Tegan Wendell (Glenside, Pa./Abington) had two hits and two RBIs while freshman Renee Stiteler (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) also collected a pair of hits while scoring twice.

Gwynedd, still in the playoff hunt, will return to action on Tuesday with a twinbill at Cedar Crest starting at 3 p.m.
