GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Freshman Stephanie Farrar (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) went 3-for-4 with four runs scored, three RBIs, a pair of home runs, and four stolen bases to help Gwynedd-Mercy sweep a Colonial States Athletic Conference Doubleheader on Monday. The Griffins took game one, 9-1, and the second, 11-1.

Farrar homered twice and also stole two bases in game one. She hit a solo shot as part of a three-run first. Her second was a two-run inside-the-park four-bagger in the second, as the Griffins jumped out to a 5-0 lead.

Sophomore Tegan Wendell (Glenside, Pa./Abington) tossed a three-hitter, allowing an unearned run while fanning four and walking just one.

Sara Poole had all three hits for the Crimson Eagles (0-17, 0-11 CSAC0, inlcuding a double.

Freshman Renee Stiteler (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) also scored twice and drove in two runs.

Game two saw the Griffins (8-15, 6-8 CSAC) take advantage of six PBU errors in the game. In the first, GM scored five times on four hits and three errors.

Wendell had the second inside-the-park homer of the day in the second, to put GM up 6-0.

Starter Heather Morgan (Audubon, N.J./Audubon) allowed just two hits, one unearned run. She struck out three with just one walk.

Gwynedd would go on and score five runs again in the sixth on just two hits and three PBU errors.

The Griffins will host Rosemont in a rescheduled game from Saturday this coming Thursday starting at 3 p.m.
