 LANGHORNE, PA. --Senior Dan DelConte (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) scored a career high 33 points to lead Gwynedd-Mercy to a 93-73 Colonial States Athletic Conference victory over Philadelphia Biblical University Saturday afternoon.

Delconte recorded his second 30-plus point performance of the season and another personal best, hitting on 11-of-17 shooting, knocking down three from behind the arc and adding six assists to his teammates and four steals on the defensive end of the floor. “It feels good to bounce back from a tough loss, I enjoy taking a leadership position and making sure the team is clicking together” said Delconte.

The Griffins (4-2, 2-1 CSAC) opened up the game on a 13-4 run setting the pace for the game. GM had seven different players scoring in the stanza along with DelConte's 19 first-half points to give them a 45-36 halftime lead. 

The second half saw the Griffins shoot 62.1% for the period, using a 16-5 spurt to open the frame and stay ahead for good.
Gwynedd-Mercy drained six three-pointers and made 19-of-26 from the charity stripe. Junior Brendan Stanton (Harleysville, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) contributed 18 points and pulled down six rebounds. Freshman Justin Knight (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) scored 10 points off the bench.

Philadelphia Biblical (2-5, 0-3 CSAC) shot 42.6% (26-of-61). Seth Heinicke scored 29 points to lead the Crimson Eagles. Adam Derus contributed 14.

Gwynedd outrebounded PBU 27-24 with junior Frank Champion (Northfield, N.J. / Mainland) collecting seven rebounds along with his seven points as well.  Wendell Torres and Charles Kennedy pulled down five apiece for the Crimson Eagles.

The Griffins will return to action Monday night when they host Penn State-Berks at 8 p.m. at the Griffin Complex.
