IMMACULATA, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy scored three second-half goals to rally and defeat Immaculata, 4-2, on Friday to finish undefeated in league play.
The Griffins, who already captured the top seed in next week's CSAC Tournament, end the regular season 7-0 and 14-4 overall. They'll take on these same Mighty Macs in semifinal action in Gwynedd Valley, Pa. on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. IU is the #4 seed.
Freshman
Brooke Stretch (Havertown, Pa./Archbishop Prendergast) helped lead the charge, scoring twice and setting up another, all in the second half as GM would fall behind 2-0 midway through the first half.
Immaculata (8-10, 4-3 CSAC) scored goals in the sixth and 18th minute of the first stanza for a two-goal lead.
Junior
Erin Gorenflo (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) put Gwynedd on the board 1:31 before halftime with her fourth goal on the year.
Stretch struck early in the second to tie it at 2-2 then later in the 56th minute to give GM its first lead of the day. She would then set up sophomore
Maria Karidas (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) for an insurance tally just under three minutes later.
GM outshot IU, 15-8, and had 10 penalty corners to Immaculata's three.

Kelly Kruk (Phoenixville, Pa./Methacton) cemented four saves in the win.
