BOX SCORE

RADNOR, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy fell in straight-sets to Cabrini Wednesday night, 3-0. Game scores were 25-11, 25-11, and 25-16. With the loss, the Griffins fall out of playoff contention.

As a team, Gwynedd hit just .021 (16-14-94) while the Cavaliers were at a .409 (43-7-88) clip.

Senior Rachel Lambert (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) had seven of the 16 kills. Junior Kelsey Craig (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) led the team with nine digs and senior Maria Stilwell (Swarthmore, Pa./Ridley) added seven digs and three aces for ther Griffins (6-14, 3-6 CSAC).

Daniella Carrozza totaled a match-high 15 kills as Cabrini (18-9, 9-0 CSAC) used key scoring runs in the first two sets to build a 2-0 lead. In the third set, GM stayed neck-and-neck early on, but a 10-3 spurt from a 9-7 lead was too much to overcome.

The Griffins, currently in eighth place, with a 3-6 mark cannot surpass Baptist Bible for the sixth and final playoff spot due to the Defender's 3-0 win over GM on October 13th.

Gwynedd ventures to Penn State-Abington on Saturday for a tri-match with the Lions and Wesley College. The Griffins take on the Wolverines at 2 p.m. then the host Lions at 4 p.m.
