GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Four players finished in double figures as Gwynedd-Mercy soared past the century mark in a 104-47 CSAC win over visiting Philadelphia Biblical Monday night.
Junior Brandon Williams (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia Electrical) paced the attack with a game-high 17 points. Senior Jon Crabtree (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) added 16 while Dan DelConte (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) had 11 and freshman Brandon Wims (Philadelphia, Pa./Cardinal Dougherty) netted 10.
Despite a slow start, the Griffins (4-2, 2-1 CSAC) got things in gear to close the half, running away on an 18-0 spurt to lead 49-26 at the break.
Adam Derus led the Crimson Eagles (0-7, 0-3 CSAC) with 13 and Jeremy Pearson had 12.
Doug Berzins (Royersford, Pa./Spring-ford) and Brandon Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Cardinal Dougherty) each pulled down seven boards. Berzins added six steals. Every player for Gwynedd scored a point and collected a rebound.
The Griffins will return to action on Friday when they take on Berkeley College in the first game of the Heritages' Dairy Stores Classic hosted by Rowan University staring at 6 p.m. GM will then play either the host Profs or Penn State-Brandywine in the consolation/championship game beginning at 1 p.m.
