GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Philadelphia Biblical posted a 3-1 win over Gwynedd-Mercy Tuesday evening giving the Griffins a higher mountain to climb in their quest for a playoff spot.

Game scores were 25-20, 17-25, 25-22, and 25-21.

The Griffins who are 4-5 in league play, must win their final two conference games and need a Notre Dame loss to slide into the last seed of the playoffs. GM will host Centenary on Thursday and close out the regular season at Baptist Bible on Saturday.

Against the Crimson Eagles, Rachel Lambert (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown) led the Griffin attack, registering 19 kills. The junior added six blocks (four solo). Aileen Reilly (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) chipped in seven kills, 18 digs and two aces.

Gwynedd (6-22) led early in the first set, 8-3, and later 16-11, before a 16-4 PBU run put them ahead to go on and win 25-20. In the second set, GM went ahead and never relinquished the lead in a 25-17 win. The fourth set saw the Griffins fall behind, only to rally to tie it at 18-18, but GM would net just three more points in the match-deciding 25-21 loss.

The Griffins host Centenary here in a big CSAC match on Thursday beginning at 7 p.m.
