Chris Panter, who has over 20 years of experience in the field of athletic communications, has been the Gwynedd Mercy University Sports Information Director since the beginning of the 2004-05 season and under his guidance, has developed and produced many new and exciting projects and endeavors to help student-athletes, parents, fans, media, alumni, faculty and staff follow the Griffins.
His day-to-day responsibilities include maintenance of the athletics website (
www.gwyneddathletics.com) with game recaps and feature stories along with updated statistical information, photos, rosters, schedules, and more. He helped launch the Griffins' new website in the Fall of 2010 via SIDEARM/ICS, one of the leaders in college athletic websites, to help streamline the constant updates of information not mention give it a new and exciting look. Panter also oversees the photography of player and team photos along with action shots at selected home and away events.
He also helped spearhead the inclusion of home webcasts and live stats for fans that can't make it to the games. Among his other many hats he wears include game management, production of select team recruiting materials and/or media guides, and the social media director of the Gwynedd Mercy Athletic Twitter (
@GwyneddSports), and Instagram (
@GwyneddSports) feeds as well as Facebook (
GwyneddSports).
Panter also has worked many NCAA Tournaments in the local area including the 2016 Division I Men's Basketball Regional in Philadelphia, the 2016 Division II Men's Basketball East Regional at Holy Family, and the 2008 Division III Men's Basketball First and Second Rounds at Ursinus among others.
Prior to Gwynedd Mercy, Panter spent three years as the SID at Catholic University in Washington, D.C. (2001-04). While at CUA, he implemented webcasts for Cardinal Football, serving as producer for all games among his sports information duties.
During the 2000-01 season, he was a member of the Lehigh University Athletic Communications staff as an intern, getting hands-on experience at the Division I level. From 1998 to 2000, he was an assistant at Rutgers-Camden University. He has also spent time with the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and as a sports reporter for the
Courier Post (N.J.)
Panter is a 1998 graduate of Wesley College where he was a four-year letterwinner for the Wolverine Football Team. An avid Philadelphia Sports Fan, he is originally from Voorhees, New Jersey and resides in Berlin, N.J. today with his wife, Kellie and stepson, Jackson.
