Ryan Simpson ’19 joined the Gwynedd Mercy University men’s lacrosse coaching staff as an assistant prior to the 2025 season. Before his post with his alma mater, Coach Simpson developed his coaching skills with NXT Lacrosse of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. In his role as the Red and Gold’s offensive coordinator, Simpson utilizes the experiences of his outstanding four-year career to maximize the Griffins’ offensive potency and efficiency.
A three-time All-CSAC (Colonial States Athletic Conference) Honorable Mention (2016-2018), Simpson put the exclamation point on an impressive intercollegiate career with a 2019 All-AEC (Atlantic East Conference) First Team selection. He finished his time in the Red and Gold as Gwynedd Mercy University’s all-time leader in games started (1st, 59), game-winning goals (1st, 11 GWG), and man-up goals (1st, 21). He also ranked second in goals (2nd, 113), third in shots on goal (3rd, 216), and tied for third in points (T3rd, 143) and shots (T3rd, 359).
Simpson was also a two-time member of the CSAC All-Academic Team (2016-2017, 2017-2018) and a member of the 2018-2019 AEC All-Academic Team. He served as team captain and graduated from Gwynedd Mercy University in 2019 with bachelors in finance.
