Hitch joined the Gwynedd Mercy University as the Game Day Coordinator/Assistant to the Director of Athletic Communications at the start of the 2022-2023 seasons. Hitch fills a valuable, multifunctional role within the Athletic Department, assisting the Director of Athletic Communications with website maintenance, social media content, press releases, and game-day scoring, while also serving as the point-person for game-day operations such as field prep, field liaison, and oversight of the game operations student staff.
While earning his bachelor’s degree in media and communication at Delaware Valley University, Hitch also interned as the assistant to the athletic director. In that role he brought fresh ideas for enhancing the Aggies’ game-day experience and social media content. He also oversaw in-game social media strategies, utilized Adobe Photoshop to create game advertisements, served as a staff photographer for home games, and provided play-by-play for the women’s basketball broadcasts streams.
As an undergrad, Hitch also interned as a special projects coordinator for Doylestown Township. There, he tracked the township’s online social media presence, coordinated municipality social media for community announcements, and he published the 2021 Doylestown Township Summer Newsletter.
A native of Dublin, Pennsylvania, Hitch graduated from Pennridge High School in 2017. As an avid sport enthusiast, he was an early member of the Gridiron Heroics podcast and still creates content for the program today.
