Andrew Roberto '27

Andrew Roberto joined the Gwynedd Mercy University women's soccer coaching staff as an assistant for goalkeepers prior to the 2026 season. As the assistant women’s soccer coach for goalkeeping, Coach Roberto’s duties include developing conditioning, skill training, and game preparation plans for the Griffins’ goalkeepers. Roberto came to Gwynedd Mercy University for the 2026 season following graduation from Delaware Valley University. He took over the starting role at the end of September and garnered Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll recognition on three occasions (Sept. 22, Oct. 13, and Oct. 20) while leading the Griffins to an 8-11 overall record and the #5 seed in the 2025 AEC Men’s Soccer Championship Tournament.
 
Roberto began his coaching career in 2018, serving as a goalkeeper trainer at Samir Badr (SB) Soccer Academy until 2022. He continued his coaching journey at Council Rock North High School of Newtown, Pennsylvania, in 2024. There, Roberto’s focus on player development, positioning, and confidence helped the Indians improve their standing in the Suburban One League (SOL) Continental Division. 
 
Roberto started all 12 games in which he appeared during Gwynedd Mercy University’s 2026 campaign; he logged the majority of the Red and Gold goalkeeping minutes as well with 988:00 in net. He was the owner of a 7-5 record with 79 saves on 193 shots faced, equating to a .790 save percentage (SV%) and a 1.91 goals-against average (GAA). Of his 225 collegiate saves, 146 were recorded at Delaware Valley University. Roberto played for the Aggies from 2021 to 2023 (30 games played – 25 games started), posting an 8-15-1 record with three shutouts, a .752 SV%, and a 1.53 GAA.
 
Roberto completed his undergraduate at Delaware Valley University in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management. He is currently enrolled in Gwynedd Mercy University’s business administration graduate program with an anticipated graduation in May of 2027. Following an exceptional undergraduate career at Delaware Valley University – three-time Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Academic Honor Roll (2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024), he made two appearances on the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite (Fall 2025, Spring 2026) and was recognized on the 2025-2026 AEC All-Academic Team.
