Mark Ziegler ‘12 enters his fourth season working with the cross country team and fifth season an assistant indoor/outdoor assistant coach. Since beginning to work with the team, the distance crew has accumulated 47 All-CSAC performances across the three seasons. Ziegler has helped coach conference champions in five events and ECAC qualifiers in ten. They have contributed to school records in six events. This includes Christina Smith ’16, a three-time All-ECAC performer.
Prior to coming to Gwynedd, Ziegler was the head track & field coach at Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia for three seasons. His athletes set nine school records and earned 16 All-Catholic honors. He coached Catholic League champions in three events, state qualifiers in three events, and national qualifiers in four events.
Ziegler graduated from Gwynedd Mercy University in 2012 and was a contributor on four cross country conference championship teams, including the 2011 team which finished eighth in the NCAA Division III Mideast Region. He was a member of the 2011 Mason-Dixon Indoor Championship team and runner up teams in 2010 and 2012. Ziegler was a 4-time All-Conference, and 11-time academic All-Conference runner during his career.
He is a Boston Marathon qualifier and currently resides in Willow Grove, Pa.
