Greg Alessandroni enters his sixth season as Assistant Women’s Basketball coach at Gwynedd Mercy University. In this role, Alessandroni assists head coach Keith Mondillo in all facets of the program, including on-court teaching, pre-game scouting of opponents, film breakdown, player development and recruiting.
Coach Alessandroni has spent 15 years coaching all levels of basketball, spending the past three and half years coaching and scouting for iBall United. With iBall United, he has a unique opportunity to develop and scout players who are competing for professional contracts overseas.
Alessandroni prides himself on volunteerism and giving back to the community. He is an active volunteer for American Cancer Society and Philly Coaches vs. Cancer. Four years ago, Coach Alessandroni decided he wanted to do more and created “Shoot the Lights out on Cancer”. He is always looking for new and creative ways to raise more funds and awareness. In June 2017 A3 Hoops partnered with iBall United and hosted the 1st Annual Shoot the Lights out on Cancer Coaches Clinic. With tremendous support from sponsors, community members, & dedicated volunteers, A3 Hoops has raised more than $35,000 over the past 4 years and all proceeds have gone to American Cancer Society Philly Coaches vs. Cancer program. In October 2016, he was honored receiving the Volunteer Achievement Award from the American Cancer Society.
In 2010, Alessandroni started All About ATTITUDE, LLC ~ A3 Hoops which provides personalized individual and group instruction, camps and clinics for players of all ages and skill levels. Coach starts each session challenging his players to bring ATTITUDE to their workouts. ATTITUDE is a constant reminder to focus on those things we can control. He challenges himself every day to develop well rounded, high basketball IQ players – with a primary focus on basketball fundamentals.
Alessandroni played high school basketball at Great Valley Senior High from 1985-88. He was a member of the 1987 PIAA District 1 Class AAA Finalists. He went onto play Lacrosse at Slippery Rock University and Bloomsburg University where he was a three-year captain and NCLL All-Star.
Greg Alessandroni has a B.A. in Sociology / Criminal Justice and a Minor in Computer Science from Bloomsburg University ’93. He currently resides in Schwenksville, Pa. with his wife, Kathy and daughters Juliana and Gabriella.
