    Assistant Track & Field Coach (Sprints)

Anthony Stango previously served as a sprints and hurdles coach for the Gwynedd Mercy University track and field teams from 2019 to 2022. He rejoined the staff under Head Coach Dylan Bennett prior to the 2024 season. Stango is currently designated as the Griffins’ sprints coach. He attended Slippery Rock University where he was a six-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship qualifier in hurdles and sprints for The Rock.
 
Under coaches Nate Shadeck, Keron Cooper, and the late Dave Labor, Stango qualified individually for the PSAC Championships in the 200-Meter, 100-Meter Hurdles, and 400-Meter Hurdles as well as the 4x100-Meter and 4x400-Meter Relays. He was a part three consecutive Top-2 finishes in the conference, before finishing his degree at West Chester University.
 
Following his collegiate career, Stango served as an assistant at Harry S. Truman High School, helping the Tigers to their most successful seasons in team history with a 2019 Girl's Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) State Championship and 2019 Penn Relay 4x100 Championship. Stango helped lead the boy's team to a third-place finish at PIAA State Championships, while developing the Boys Pennsylvania State Champion in the 100-Meter and 200-Meter, a dozen (12) state qualifiers, and eight national qualifiers. 
 
Stango also coached at Bristol High School where additionally he served as an assistant coach with the football program. As the defensive backs and wide receivers coach, he helped guide the Rams to three straight PIAA Playoff appearances.
