Head Women's Soccer Coach Michael Nelms

Michael Nelms

Michael Nelms returns for his fifth season after playing for Coach Bontempo at Archbishop Ryan High School in the 80’s. During his senior year, he led Ryan to the Catholic League Championship.
 
Nelms graduated from and played soccer at Holy Family University and also has a master’s degree in Education from Temple University. Michael served as an assistant coach at Holy Family University and helped lead them to appearances in the NCAA Tournament. He also had the opportunity to coach with Coach Bontempo at Father Judge High School. He later went on to become the head girl’s coach at Upper Dublin High School.
 
Mike has coached at Council Rock Soccer Club and his Council Rock Gunners Elite team were finalists in the State Cup in 2014.
 
He is a master level science teacher at Sandy Run Middle School for the past 17 years. Raising a family, coaching and teaching are his passions in life. He brings decades of experience, energy, and commitment for excellence to the program. Michael preaches that the greatest accomplishments from the game of soccer are not wins and losses but the relationships developed throughout the years with other coaches, former players, and referees.
