Dan Geary joins the cross country coaching staff for his first season. Geary, a 2010 graduate of the college, enjoyed a stellar career as a Griffin. Geary left the program with four school records to his credit and still holds two of them (indoor 4x400 relay and outdoor 800 meter run). In 2010 Geary was named the Gwynedd-Mercy College male scholar-athlete of the year.
Geary was named to the USTFCCCA Academic All-America team in 2010 as a result of his national qualifying performance in the 800 meter run and his cumulative GPA of 3.84.
While a stronger performer on the track, Geary is no stranger to success during the fall season. Geary was a four-time, second team all-conference performer for the Griffins and was a part of the 2008 and 2009 conference championship squads.
Geary still competes regularly and is sponsored by North Wales Running Company and works part-time in the store on Sunday afternoons. At the 2012 Swarthmore Last Chance Meet Geary ran 1:57.99 seconds in his first 800 meter race in two years. Upon graduation Geary began work as a Junior Accountant at Gable, Peritz and Mishkin, LLP with offices located a few miles from campus. Geary resides in nearby Lansdale, PA
