    Assistant Field Hockey Coach
Erin Bacon joins the Gwynedd Mercy University Field Hockey Staff in 2017 as Assistant Coach in her first season with the Griffins.
 
Originally from Williamsburg, Va., Bacon completed her collegiate academic and athletic career at Centre College in Danville, KY. Graduating in 2013, she earned her degree with a Major in Economics and Minor in French. She would finish her collegiate career with 17 goals and six assists for the Colonels, Bacon was awarded the highest-esteemed team-voted award in leadership, excellence, and scholarship, the Kitty R. Baird Award.
 
Following her time with the Colonels, Bacon immediately moved to Dallas, Pa. to pursue a two-year Graduate Assistant Field Hockey position with the Misericordia University Cougars. She graduated with a Master of Science in Organizational Management, coaching experience with the Misericordia Field Hockey team, as well as coaching time spent with PA Elite Field Hockey Club. Bacon then pursued a position with Longstreth Sporting Goods in the field hockey department for two years, while coaching part-time with X-Calibur Field Hockey Club.

Her excitement and passion for the sport, along with her high hockey IQ make her a perfect fit for the staff and team,” Heac Coach Laura-Ann Lane states. "She was a great player, and a top notch GA while at Misericordia University, so I know that she will provide our student-athletes with her best each and every day on the pitch. We cannot wait to get to work!"
 
Today, Bacon resides in Collegeville, Pa. working full-time as an event and wedding planner. "I am very excited for the opportunity to continue coaching and being involved with field hockey alongside Laura-Ann, Matt  and the Gwynedd Mercy UniversityField Hockey Team - great things are coming this season!"
