Nikki Williams (Cinnaminson, N.J.). Hoban put the silver lining on this afternoon's clouds with the Red and Gold's first tally of the season on a penalty-corner rocket that found the back of the Blazer cage with 30 seconds remaining (4-1, 59:30).
Griffin Highlights
- Hoban recorded both of Gwynedd Mercy University's shots in the fourth quarter. The first one she sent wide of the net on a penalty corner at 55:40. The second got the Griffins on the scoreboard; 4-1 (59:30), just before the final horn.
- The Red and Gold finished the contest with three penalty corners. All three came in the fourth quarter.
- Williams (1:21) made the start, but junior goalkeeper Kelly Weaver (Flemington, N.J.) (0-8) relieved her and made 10 saves over the remaining 58:39. It's Weaver's fifth double-digit save performance this season.
Gwynedd Mercy University opens their United East Conference schedule next Saturday, October 3, when they host St. Mary's College of Maryland for a 3:00 p.m. affair.
