ynedd Valley, Pa. - (9/17/2025) - Gwynedd Mercy University (2-4) waited out lightning and over 50 minutes of game play to secure their second win of the 2025 season as an early goal from senior forward
Mackenzie Reed (Philadelphia, Pa.); 1-0 (9:50), stood up behind a superb performance from junior goalkeeper
Nikki Williams (Cinnaminson, N.J.) and the Red and Gold defense. Williams made two saves in her first win (1-1) of the season, while freshman
Amanda Minteer (Mechanicsburg, Pa.), junior
Keleigh Clausius (Landenberg, Pa.),
Lillie Uttenreither (Bel Air, Md.), senior
Abby LePage (Cinnaminson, N.J.), controlled the Cedar Crest College (2-5) chances on goal.
Griffin Highlights
- Gwynedd Mercy University started controlling the contest after the first five minutes elapsed. A healthy dose of penalty corners eventually brought the Griffins a 1-0 (9:50) lead as Uttenreither touched a loose ball to Reed for the eventual game-winner.
- The Red and Gold regained their time of possession in the second half. A 10-3 shot advantage kept Cedar Crest College in desperation mode for most it, including a statement stop by Uttenreither in the closing seconds.
- Reed kept the pressure on the Falcon defense with a team-high seven shots.
- Freshman forward Gianna Radcliffe (Harleysville, Pa.) (5 shots), sophomore forward Allyssa Seifert (helped force Philadelphia, Pa.) (3), and junior midfielder Morgan Hoban (Cinaminnson, N.J.) (3) helped push the Red and Gold agenda.
Gwynedd Mercy University concludes their opening home stand on Saturday, September 20, when they host Ramapo College for a 12:00 p.m. Morgan's Message game.
