Annville, Pa. - (3/15/2025) - It was a tough day for the Gwynedd Mercy University (1-7) Griffins as they lost on the road to Lebanon Valley College (4-2) with a final score of 25-3. The Flying Dutchmen started the game on a hot streak, with three goals in just over a minute apart (13:30, 12:58, 12:26). The Griffins defense was able to regroup after a timeout, with senior Alysia Collins (Royersford, Pa.) scoring a man-up free position goal with 6:21 remaining in the quarter.
Gwynedd Mercy was able to hold Lebanon Valley to five goals per quarter for the rest of the game but were unable to generate consistent attack to make a true comeback. In the second half the Griffins lost the battle for ground balls 2-7, many of which were in the midfield, allowing the Flying Dutchman to regain possession. After two quick goals in the fourth quarter (14:11, 12:31), Lebanon Valley and Gwynedd Mercy traded turnovers and fouls for almost five minutes of back-and-forth play. Sophomore defender Teagan O'Neill (Pennsauken, N.J.) closed out the game by captured her first career draw control.
