Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (2/21/2025) - Gwynedd Mercy University (5-19, 1-9 AEC) hosted Neumann University (15-9, 6-4 AEC) in the final game of the 2024-25 season. Prior to the contest, the Red and Gold honored senior forward captain Alexis Eagan (Drexel Hill, Pa.) for her contributions to the women's basketball team and wished her well in her future endeavors. After a strong first half from Gwynedd Mercy, they walked into the locker room with a one-point lead (27-26), but a third-quarter fumble where the Knights would go on to score 26 in the quarter compared to the Griffins' 11 would be too tall of an order with the Red and Gold dropping their final game of the season 64-55. Eagan in her final game contributed with 11 points (5-of-11, 45%), five rebounds, a team-high three assists, and a steal.
Griffin Highlights:
- Freshman guard Kailyn Bell (Ridley Park, Pa.) in her final game of her impressive rookie campaign finished with a team-high 13 points in the contest including a game-high seven in the second quarter alone.
- Gwynedd Mercy only shot the ball 16 times from behind the arc in the season finale but only capitalized on three shots (19%) with sophomore guard Alyssa Cresto (Newark, Del.) hitting two of them (2-of-7, 29%).
Gwynedd Mercy finishes the regular season 5-19 overall and 1-9 in Atlantic East Conference (AEC) play.
