Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (10/2/2024) - Freshman forward Owen Polumbo (Morrisville, Pa.) (3-1, 68:40) and junior midfielder Hagan Meyer (Warrington, Pa.) (4-2, 70:37) both recorded their first goal for Gwynedd Mercy University (2-10-1), but the two-tally total was not enough to overcome Arcadia University (8-1-1) in this evening's 6-2 final. The Griffins recorded 11 shots, a team-high three were taken by sophomore midfielder Luke O'Donnell (Glenside, Pa.).

• Arcadia University possessed the ball for most of the first half, leaving Gwynedd Mercy University's best scoring chances to the later frame.
• There, senior defenseman Matt Edwards (Bensalem, Pa.) and graduate midfielder Mike Fienman (Philadelphia, Pa.) took some shots before junior defenseman Colin Stocklin (Philadelphia, Pa.) located Polumbo for his tally. 
• Junior midfielder C.J. Clyde (Southampton, Pa.) assisted on Meyer's score, serving the ball into the box from near-midfield.
• Junior goalkeeper Joe Romano (Blue Bell, Pa.) took the loss (2-5) and made seven saves in the opening 64:56. Freshman goalkeeper Cody Sell (Souderton, Pa.) made one save in the final 25 minutes (25:04).

Gwynedd Mercy University returns to the Athletic Complex on Friday, September 5, when they host Penn State Berks for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
