Madison, N.J. - (9/18/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (0-4) returned to Madison, New Jersey, to make up an early-season rain out with FDU-Florham (2-3). The Devils scored twice in the opening frame (2:40, 12:58) and added a third tally in the third quarter (42:38) of their eventual 3-0 victory. The Griffins were led by freshman midfielder Lillie Uttenriether (Bel Air, Md.), who recorded three of Gwynedd Mercy University's five shots and a six-save effort from freshman goalkeeper Nikki Williams (Cinnaminson, N.J.).

Griffin Highlights

• Uttenriether had two chances on third quarter penalty corner insertions from freshman midfielder Hailey Crosby (Afton, N.Y.), but the first went wide (39:29) and the second was blocked (40:26).
• Her third shot came in the fourth quarter and was put on goal (49:28).
• Gwynedd Mercy University's other penalty corner came early in the first quarter (3:38).
• The Griffins totaled seven saves in all. In addition to Williams' six, a defensive save was made by freshman defender Morgan Hoban (Cinnaminson, N.J.).

Gwynedd Mercy University plays next on Wednesday, September 20, when they visit Washington College (Md.) for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
