Baumeister Walk Spoils Postseason Perfect Game in AEC Pod A Finale

Radnor, Pa. - (5/6/2-23) - #6 Gwynedd Mercy University (17-18) concluded their season with today's 8-0, six-inning loss to #1 Cabrini University (27-12) in final Pod A game of the 2023 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Softball Championship Tournament. Junior designated player/pitcher Jocelyn Baumeister (Willow Grove, Pa.) walked in to lead off the second inning, ruining any chance of a postseason perfecto.

  • Junior pitcher/designated player Ashley Focht (Harrisburg, Pa.) took the loss (9-8) despite holding the Cavaliers to two run on five hits and two walk over the first four innings. She struck out two.
