Philadelphia, Pa. - (12/31/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (7-6) traveled to the prominent Palestra to take on the University of Pennsylvania (8-5) in the Griffins' final game of the 2023 portion of their schedule. Ultimately, the team would end the year with a loss to the Quakers 89-34. Senior guard Lynzie Eggers (Washington Township, N.J.) finished with a game-high 32 minutes played and a team-high ten points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Eggers went 4-of-12 (33%) from the field, including hitting one of her two (50%) three-pointers she took. 
 
Griffin Highlights:

• Junior guard Aleix Eagan (Drexel Hill, Pa.) continues to play a crucial role as she comes off the bench first each game. Today Eagan finished with seven points on 3-of-8 (38%) shooting.
• The Griffins shot 21% from the field, while the Quakers shot 49%. University of Pennsylvania came out hot in the first quarter going 13-of-19 (68%) but would cool off as the contest continued. 
• Gwynedd Mercy University bench was outscored 48-13. 

 
Gwynedd Mercy University starts Atlantic East Conference (AEC) play at the Griffin Complex when they take on Neumann University on Wednesday, January 3rd, for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff.
