Scranton, Pa. (10/31/2023) - The number six ranked Gwynedd Mercy University (7-5-6, 1-2-4) historic season came to an abrupt ending on a cool Halloween night as the Griffins traveled to the number one ranked Marywood University (9-6-2, 5-1-1) in a semi-final bout in the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Championship Tournament. Gwynedd Mercy was unable to get anything going offensively as the Pacers controlled nearly the entire contest as they cruised to a 7-0 victory over the Griffins. Sophomore goalkeeper Madisson Ronn (Warrington, Pa.) finished with 14 saves in the loss finishing the season with a record of 2-5-5.
 
Griffin Highlights: 

• Gwynedd Mercy was unable to put any pressure on Marywood's backline all game as the team was outshot 44-4 with only freshman forward Ksenia Semenovykh (Warrington, Pa.) and sophomore forward captain Bethany Beinlich (Forksville, Pa.) each recording a shot on net. 
• The 2023 Gwynedd Mercy Women's Soccer team can leave the pitch with their head held high as this was the first time a Griffins' soccer team has made the semi-finals since 2017. 

 
Gwynedd Mercy University finishes the 2023 season with a 7-5-6 overall record and a 1-2-4 AEC standing.
